An Interactive AI Case Map was launched as part of the “Global Challenge: Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” program by the Skolkovo Foundation.

Today this map includes solutions offered by 40 participants selected as winners of the finals of the 2020 Program. These AI-based solutions in healthcare, education, retail and fintech have prominent capacity to support implementation of UN’s 2015 Sustainable Development Goals. The map will be continuously supplemented with the cases offered by participants of the Skolkovo’s “Global Challenge: Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development Goals”, and it is going to be a link between the socially responsible businesses, start up companies and the government.

Kirill Kaem, Senior Vice President for Innovation, Skolkovo Foundation: «ИThe interactive AI case map is our response to a clearly defined request from the global community and our partners throughout the world. The sooner this project is implemented, the sooner we’ll be able to use this tool to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. This is why we would like to wish good luck to the participants and partners of SDG Map, to have the new case fields filled in as soon as possible. I would like to note that the Skolkovo Foundation still has a lot of initiatives to promote the development of AI technologies, and we are dealing with federal-level projects as part of the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence by 2030.».

The launch of the International Program to support technology-based companies promoting one or several UN’s SDGs with the use of AI solutions coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Skolkovo Foundation. Tinkoff, Marine Innovations and Digital Economy League were among the partners of the program in 2020. In 2021, the project will be expanded to include international companies.

Sergey Dutov, Director of Business Development and Industrial Partners of IT Cluster, Skolkovo Foundation: «The core task of the “Global Challenge: Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development Goals” is to promote 17 UN’s goals among the technology-oriented community which may turn into a powerful driver to achieve those Goals. We are rapidly becoming part of the global agenda. Recently the Skolkovo Foundation became an official member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, an international organization orchestrating the process of SDG implementation. We look forward to soon becoming members in another important international organization - Global Compact.t».

Sergey Shilov, President and founder of Digital Economy League: «Significance and capabilities of developing Artificial Intelligence cannot be overstated. This is one of the key technologies for the digitalization of Russia’s economy, and if we look at it globally, AI is critical for all mankind. Our company is using AI elements in many projects, and their role keeps growing. Synergetic effect achieved by the digitalization participants, sharing experience and joint work on the competencies are very important, so we are glad to take this chance to become partners of the “Global Challenge: Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development Goals” program, which was introduced as part of Sk[ai]Hub.».
